ChatGPT: students massively use the software for an assignment, copies will not be corrected

However, some students have abused the software for their academic assignments. According to several reports, many students have used ChatGPT to generate essays, summaries, reports, and other types of written work by simply providing an instruction in a prompt. Some students have even used ChatGPT to write their own feedback and evaluations for their peers.

This has caused a major problem for teachers and professors who have to grade these assignments. Many of them have decided not to correct the copies that are suspected or confirmed to be generated by ChatGPT. They argue that this is a form of plagiarism and cheating that violates the academic integrity and honesty.

Some students have defended their use of ChatGPT, claiming that it is a useful tool for learning and improving their writing skills. They say that they only use ChatGPT as a source of inspiration and guidance, and that they still edit and revise the generated texts.

OpenAI has not commented on this issue yet. However, they have stated that ChatGPT is still in its research preview stage and that they are collecting users' feedback and learning about its strengths and weaknesses¹. They have also introduced ChatGPT Plus, a paid subscription service that offers more features and customization options for users who want to use ChatGPT for personal or professional purposes².
